Sydney Flight College (SFC) at a glance.
SFC Aero is the trading name of Sydney Flight College, one of Australia's largest and longest-running flight training organisations. Founded in 1969, it has spent more than half a century producing pilots for major Australian and international airlines as well as corporate, charter, aeromedical, and instructing careers, while remaining a genuine flying club with member fly-aways and a varied fleet.
The college operates two New South Wales campuses. Bankstown Airport in south-west Sydney is the historic home of the college and club. The purpose-built SFC Pilot Academy at Tamworth, about an hour's flight north, delivers an immersive residential program in a region with more than 300 suitable flying days a year. Students there live a five-minute walk from the flight line, with meals, a gym, a pool, and sports facilities on campus.
SFC holds CASA Part 142 approval and operates as a Registered Training Organisation. The flagship Airline Pilot Package runs over 21 months and combines two Diplomas of Aviation to deliver a CPL with Multi-Engine Instrument Rating and Upset Prevention and Recovery Training.
