EASA Integrated ATPL Program

The EASA Integrated ATPL Program takes a student with no flying experience to a commercial pilot licence with a multi engine instrument rating, the qualification usually called a frozen ATPL. FlyBy publishes a duration of 14 months, delivered as six numbered courses across four phases: ATPL theory in months 1 to 4, first flying in months 5 and 6, combined theory and advanced flying in months 7 to 10, and IFR and advanced training in months 11 to 14.

The academy states that students fly a total of 238 hours, made up of 136 hours single engine, 16 hours multi engine plus 3 hours for the final skill test, 3 hours aerobatic, 40 hours in an FNPT II simulator for instrument training and 40 hours of APS MCC. Two of those blocks are simulator time rather than aircraft time. Training runs in English from Burgos, with a second site at Agoncillo in La Rioja, and intakes open every two months.

Applicants must have completed secondary or high school education, be able to obtain an EASA Class 1 medical certificate without restrictions, and meet ICAO English Level 4 as a minimum. FlyBy sets its own admission tests covering personality, English, mathematics and physics, and states that school grades are not assessed.

On price: 79,500 euros, described by the academy as all inclusive with no hidden fees. The FAQ states this covers three meals a day and accommodation for 14 months, including transport to the airport for training sessions. FlyBy publishes a second figure of 69,500 euros for the same course with no accommodation, meals or transportation.
