Avi's First Solo: fly the route across Asia

After your METAR and flight maths practice, take a break in the cockpit. Take off from Avi's flight school in Bandung and fly via Jakarta (CGK), Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Brunei and Manila to Hong Kong and Taipei (TPE). A final checkride waits on a mysterious island, and once you pass it, every city comes back in a storm.

  • The pilot cards of Avi's First Solo: Avi's propeller plane, Kiki's helicopter and Lou's jet with their speed and control ratings

    Choose your aircraft

Avi's propeller plane lands on runways and Kiki's helicopter on helipads. After the checkride, Lou's jet joins and flies ILS approaches with the gear down.

  • Avi in flight with an air traffic control altitude clearance on screen

    Fly by the book

Hold the altitude air traffic control gives you (“Climb and maintain 5000 ft”), watch your fuel and handle gusts on landing.

  • The passport page of the Flight Log with city stamps

    Collect your stamps

Ten passport stamps, from Jakarta's Monas to Taipei 101 and the island at the end. Each one takes the three airmail letters hidden on that leg.

  • The hangar of Avi's First Solo with the pilot's rank and its gold stripes

    Earn your stripes

Start as a Cadet, earn your first stripe as a Student Pilot and work your way through eleven ranks to Chief Pilot, which unlocks the Aviation Connect livery. 34 badges wait in your Flight Log.

Avi is a penguin with a big problem: penguins can't fly, unless they train properly. Follow Avi, Kiki, Mika and Pip as they learn the basics of aviation and steer clear of Mr. Shortcut's “Instant Pilot” deals.

Questions

Good to know

  1. Q.01

    Is it really free?

    100% free school advice

Yes. Our school advisory is free for students. Partner flight schools pay us a fee when a student we helped enrols. Optional paid services, such as Family Care, are separate, and only if you choose them.

  2. Q.02

    What happens with my data?

    Shared only when you ask

We use it to match you with schools and to help you when you apply. We share it with a school only when you ask us to. You can download or delete your data in your account at any time. Read our privacy policy

  3. Q.03

Do I have to apply anywhere?

    No

No. You can take the tests, look at schools and compare them without applying anywhere.

  4. Q.04

    What are Avi Points?

    Points for learning

Avi Points are what you earn in your crew logbook: for practice rounds, finished tests, a complete profile and steps such as your first call with an advisor. They raise your crew rank and bring badges closer.

  5. Q.05

Can I lose my Avi Points?

    No

No. Avi Points you have earned stay in your logbook, and so do the badges you have earned. Practice earns Avi Points up to a daily limit, and after that every round is still good practice.

  6. Q.06

    Who sees my crew card?

    You decide

Your crew card and your logbook are for you and our team. If you switch on the leaderboard, other people see your callsign, your country’s flag, your crew rank and your Avi Points from practice and tests there. Never your name, your age or your school. You can switch it off at any time.

  7. Q.07

    How does the leaderboard work?

    Fresh every Monday

There is a weekly list that starts fresh every Monday at midnight, Singapore time, and an all-time list. The week counts Avi Points from practice and better test results, up to the daily limit; the all-time list also counts your first finish of each test. So the list shows effort and never an application. You are on it only if you switch it on.
